PROMINENT RANCH BOY KILLED IN TRACTOR UPSET
Jerry Orgish, 19. promising young hancher of Eagle County, was killed instantly when, his tractor overturned on him Tuesday afternoonThe accidjent happened arly In the afternoon, when he wa s at work on the ranch of his father, Paul Orgish, near McCoy. Attempting to drive the tractor up a steep incline, it turned over backward, pinning him beneath. His father, working nearby, heard the crash and came tc his rescue, to find he couldn’t move the heavy piece of machineryCounty Coroner. Todd Bowman of Eagle, s tated that the lad died instantly of a broken neck and crushed chest He graduated from Eagle County High School in May, where he had gained the admiration and respect of not only his schoolmates and instructors, but of Hudents out over the state through his leading part in Future Farmers of America work. He held the position of vice president an the state organization of this group the past year, and was selected State Farmer, a destination earned by his outstanding chapter work, based on character, scholar-

ship and leadership- He was president of the Eagle County High FFA chapter last term and co-editor of “The Pirate’s Log'' school year book. Jerry held offices i n various school groups throughout his four years in high school, taking a lead in student council and class affair B , as well as being an outstanding athlete. Last year he was selected representative to Boy State, an American Legion sponsored citizen-training camp, at Camp George West. Golden, chosen on ba s is of scholarship and character. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs- Paul Orgish, McCoy ranch people, and an older brother. Billy. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon in the gymnasium of Eagle County High at 2 p. m. when pallbearers will 'be schoolmates of Jerry’s and will include Billy Gates, Frank Albertson, Bob Reed, George. Decker, Date Albertson and Bob Green.
