JAMES MORFORD, RED CLIFF RESIDENT 58 YEARS. DIED FRI.
James L Morford, resident of Eagle County since 1891, living those 58 years in the town of Red Cliff. Born in Kentucky February 26. 1872, he came west when he was a young man of 19 to the mining camp of Red Cliff, then the center of this part of the state. Mr Morford took an active part m the early day civic and political affairs of his community and served as town marshal and in other town official capacities. For the past several months he had been in very poor health, and recently had returned from Mayo Brothers Clinic in Rochester, Minn, where he spent sometime for medical treatment and was a patient in a Glenwood Springs at the time of his death. He is survived by a sister, MrsElizabeth Bennett of Tulsa, Okla., a brother, Alex L. Morford of Gal ena, Kan. and a nephew, Lawrence L- Morford of Dayton, Ohio who came for the funeral. Arrangements were in charge of Bowman Funreal Chapel in Eagle and burial was in the Red Cliff cemetery Tuesday. November 22.
