Rancher Crushed To Death Under Overturned Wagon

Elbae Morgan of Burns died early Wednesday morning in the Porter hospital in Glenwood as a result of injuries sustained Tuesday afternoon , when a hay rack overturned , pinning Mr . Morgan underneath . The tragic accident happened about 2 o clock Tuesday afternoon , when Mr . Morgan went after a load of hay , on the former Luther Aker ranch on Poison creek . The loaded rack overturned , throwing the man from the vehicle . As he fell , apparently he tried to throw himself clear of a pile of brush , and rolled underneath the rack as it over

turned . Mr . Morgan was underneath the wagon the wagon for approximately _ an hour before Albert Sehultz discovered his plight and came to his rescue . Later that afternoon , Dr . C M . Parkinson of Eagle was called , and the injured man was taken to the Portei hospital . He suffered internal injuries and a broken back . He ? s survived- by his widow and three childrn . - Mr . Morgan , who was 26 years of age , was a nephew of Art Trueman of Eagle .

OBITUARY OF ELBAE MORGAN.

Elbae Trueman Morgan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Morgan, was born April 6 , 1915, at Cumro , Nebr., and departed this life January 4, 1942, at the age of 26 years, 8 months, and 30 days . He grew to manhood at Cumro, coming to Burns in Eagle county in 1935, where he has since resided. He was married to Mrs. Helen Smith of McCoy , Colo., Sept. 3 , 1940 . A daughter, Carol Ellen, was born to them on October 2 , 1941. Mr. Morgan met his death while at work on the ranch on Poison creek, when he was crushed to death underneath a hay wagon on which he had been riding when it overturned . t Fun eral services were held in Eagle Sunday, from the Methodist church, with Dr. O F. Archer in charge, and the body was land to rest in Vallev View cemetery

The deceased leaves to mourn his death , his widow , Helen , two stepdaughters , Verna and Lois , his parents , five brothers , Meredith and Russell of Nebraska ; Kenneth of California ; Beryl of Camp Berkley , Tex ., and Dale of Burns ; three sisters , Mrs . Mary Sanford of Delta ; Mrs . Myrtle Harris of Cincinnatti , Ohio , and Mrs . Velma Johnson of Grand Junctjon ; a grandfather , Geo . Trueman of Eagle ; four uncles and an aunt , and several nieces and nephews . _ O

Mr . and Mrs . Clarence Dubach of Minturn , accompanied- by his mother , Mrs . Mary Dubach ,, were Eagle visitors Wednesday . Clarence is on crutches , as a result of an injured foot . While he was at work in the Gilman mine in December , his left foot was injured when a rock fell on it . A blood clot hag formed in the ankle joint , and has given him quite a bit of trouble . Since that time he has been unable to return to his work .
