Charles Leo “Chuck” Perkins, 84, Grand Junction, died July
17, 2017, at HopeWest and Hospice Care Center.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Canyon View Vineyard
Church.
He was an electrician and U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; four sons, Greg of Baton
Rouge, Louisiana, Terry of Columbia, South Carolina, Jerry of
Parker, and Charlie of Barstow, California; four daughters, Kristy
Reuss of Grand Junction, Holly Dyer of Loveland, Shelly Covext of
Allen, Texas, and Rene’ Landry of Grand Junction; two brothers,
Danny Perkins of Georgia, and Wiley Perkins of Baton Rouge; two
sisters, Gracie Perkins and Fave Perkins, both of Baton Rouge; and
nine grandchildren.

Charles “Chuck” Leo
Perkins, age 84, died July 17,
2017, following a lengthy
illness.
Born March 20, 1933, in
Denham Springs, LA, he was
the son of the late L.D. and
Alice Perkins. He was a
veteran of the U. S. Air Force
having served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Police Squadron
during the early 1950’s.
Chuck had been employed as an electrician for 50 years. He
was a member of the Mesa County Search and Rescue, Snow
Skippers, Western Slope ATV Association, and Calvary Chapel
Church. Chuck enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his RZR, fishing,
hunting, gardening, being outside in his yard, and watching his
beloved LSU and Broncos play football.
He was a hard worker, a good friend to many and always
willing to lend a helping hand. Chuck was a loving husband,
and faithfully read his Bible and prayed every day. Chuck
served the Lord in the Kairos prison ministry and helped build
an orphanage on two missions trips to Africa, bringing light and
electricity for the first time to orphans in Kamaila, Zambia.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bill,
Sydney, and Hines Ray, and his sister, Lillie. He is survived by
his wife, Donna; sons, Greg (Patti), Terry (Vonnie), Jerry
(Nona), and Charlie (Nancy); step-daughters, Kristy (Dennis)
Reuss, Holly Dyer, Shelly Covert, and adopted daughter, Rene’
Landry; brothers, Danny (Sue), and Wiley (Hilda); two sisters,
Gracie (Gene) and Faye; nine grandchildren and many, many
great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 11:00
a.m. at the Canyon View Vineyard Church Chapel, 736 24 ½
Road, Grand Junction, CO.
