Funeral services for Arthur Earnest "Ernie" Nogal were held Wednesday April 17, at the Eagle Community Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Goodier officiating. Mr Nogal was one of he original homesteaders in the Eagle River Vaalley, where he was a resident for dfjsf years. Graveside rites were performed by Castle Lodge NO. 122 at Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle. Mr Nogal died Saturday, April 13 at the Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Boulder. He was 99.
He was born May 21, 1885 to Charles F. and Rosetta Metheny Nogal in Eagle, then know as Castle. The Nogals were a pioneer family, one of the first to homestead in Eagle in the late 1800's. He was raised and educated in the Eagle area.
In 1922, Mr. Nogal married Grace E. Harris. She died in 1930. IN 1956 he married again, this time to Eleanor Ruth Angus in Glenwood Springs. She passed away in 1977.
