Melvin Lloyd Norgaard 1922 - 2007
Former Edwards resident Melvin Lloyd Norgaard died July 2 in Nevada. He was 82.
He was born Oct. 27, 1922 in Glenwood Springs to Edna (Baldauf) and Carl Norgaard of Edwards. Melvin grew up on the family cattle ranch and gaduated from Eagle County High school in Gypsum in 1941. He joined the Navy in 1942, and served on numerous ships in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war he moved to Denver and became a cabinet maker; then later went into the insurance business.
Melvin adn Arline Barker were married in June, 1952 in Denver. They moved to Sparks, Nev. in 1955
He won numerous awards from the life and health insurance industry in Nevada. He was also a Mason fro 61 years. ...................
........He is survived by his wife Arline, sisters Loraine Donahue of Canyon City, Colo and Myrna Sewel of Salt Lake City, Utah.
