Josephine Anna Grant, 92, passed away July 18, 2017, at the
Community Veterans Living Center in Rifle, Colorado.
JoAnn was born on December 15, 1924, in Basalt, Colorado to
Walter J. Hyrup and Eva Marie Letty Hyrup. She graduated
from Basalt Union High School, and later, furthering her education,
went on to attend Mesa College in Grand Junction.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Grant;
brother, John V. Hyrup; sister, May Rose Peuser and husband,
Harold; brother in-law, Donald Grant; sister-in-law, Katherine
"Kay" and husband, Leo Letey.
She is survived by her children, William Ervin Grand III of
Delta, CO and Cathy A. (James) Pauley of Black Canyon City,
Arizona; sister, Eugenia Grant of Basalt, CO; sister-in-law, Phyllis
Hyrup of Parachute, CO; grandchildren, Windy (Jeff)
VanMarter of Queens Creek, Arizona; Tammy Pauley of Surprise,
Arizona, and Sandra (Larry) Cantu, of Surprise, Arizona;
great-grandchildren, Samantha, Natalie, Heather, Sarah, and
Jake; nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by family
and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 21, 2017, at
Farnum-Holt Funeral Home in Glenwood Springs, Colorado at
1:00 p.m. followed by a burial at Rosehill Cemetery in Rifle,
Colorado.
