Dale H. Smith passed away
May 20, at his home with his
wife at his side.
Dale was born on August 10,
1930, at the old St. Mary’s, to
Minnie and Harvey Smith. He
lived in Grand Junction his
entire life, except when he
served in Germany.
Dale married his high school
sweetheart and they spent 65
great years together. They had one child, a daughter, Kathy, who
was tragically taken in a car accident. She was daddy’s little girl
and he never quite got over her death. Kathy gave him two
grandchildren to be proud of, Brandon Milholland and Erin
Bishop. He also has loving great-granddaughters and special
nieces and nephews that he was very close to.
Dale was an insurance agent for Farmer Union for 35 years.
He received many awards, but was most proud of the
scholarship that was funded in his name. It is still giving a little
help to students today.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter. He is
survived by wife, Eileen Smith; grandson, Brandon (Sara)
Milholland, and granddaughter, Erin (Tommy) Bishop; sisters,
Louise (John, deceased) Phillips and Willa Mae (Gene)
Southard.
Dale’s service will be at Palisade Nazarene Church on
Thursday, May 25 at 12:00, with Pastor Don Blanchard
officiating.
Contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice or Palisade
Nazarene Church.

Dale H. Smith, 86, Grand Junction, died May 20, 2017, at his
home.
Services will take place at noon Thursday at Palisade Nazarene
Church.
He was an insurance agent for Union Pacific.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen; two sisters, Willa Mae Southard
and Evelyn Louise Phillips, both of Grand Junction; two grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
