In coming down from tho Pass Monday morning engine No . 1107 i run by Engineer Buffhor struck a man who was starting to cross a bridgo about ono mile bolow Fando . I It appears from tho statement of the ( bridge gang who wore working on tho ; bridgo at tho timo that tho man started to crosa tho bridgo and did not hour tho engine whistle- and as tho bridge ! h but n thousand feet from it _shnrp curve tlio onginoor wns not ablo to stop after he saw tho man _wob not going to got off the bridge . Tho man lived for about 10 _minulca nftor being struck but did not regain consciousness . No _lettera or pnpors woro found on tho body , tho only thing _boing the nnmo of II . L . _Porkins , which was _stonuilod in tha hut band . Ho was a mim who appeared to bo about . forty- ( lvo _yonrs of ago , height about Ilvo feet eight inches and ot medium build . He was burled Tuesday morning by undertaker W , II . Farnum of Glenwood Springs , Mr. O'Mallahy , Mr . Farnum a assistant having charge.
