Former resident of the Eagle - Edwards area, Vladimir "Pop" Pfandke, 86, died Sept 18 at the Glen Valley Nursing Home. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Gypsum. Born June 23, 1888 in Odessa, Russia, he spent his childhood in that country and came to the United States in 1913. He lived in Long Island, New York until 1949 when he moved to Colorado.. He married Sophie Yaokowsky in New York in 1913. She died there in 1933. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Gypsum. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Chester Ruminski of Edwards.
