Ron Piel, 1929-2014

Ron Piel passed away in Grand Junction on Aug. 30 due to complications of dementia.
He proudly served his country from 1951-1953 in the Army Big Red One Division. In 1969, Ron built a home north of Dotsero and began a long carpentry career in the valley.
He enjoyed family gatherings, raising livestock, cutting firewood and dogs. Ron is survived by his wife Lorraine, daughter Pat and husband Kevin, daughter Sue Gaugh, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
