ELSIE BERTHOLF PIERCE
Elsie Dell Bertholf was born on December G, 1575, at Winterset, la. , the daughter of Zack and Melissa Bertholf. At the age of nine years she came west in a wagon train, settling at Collban, Colorado. In 1599 she went to Aspen then to Glenwood in 1945. In 1894 she was married. to Mr. Pierce in Collbran. Mrs. Pierce died in Glenwood September 25 at the age of 87 years and she was buried in Eagle Sept. 28 with services at Uhe Miller Chapel, conducted- l>y Reverend F. L. Friend of the Eagle Methodist Chiurch.
She is survived by four children Mrs. Mabel Miller, Eagle; Mrs. C. .1. Stiers Clenwood Springs; Mrs Pearl Steffen, Hayden and Richard R. Pierce, Oakland Calif.; 12 J grandchildren; 22 great-grandchil-dren and seven great-great-grand-childen, four of whom are the children of D’oyd and Meny.l Cook Elchler of Eagle; ami three are the children of A1 and Betty Cook Ford now in Germany.
