SNOWMASS LAD DIES FOLLOWING SCOOTER WRECK A 14 year old Snow mass lad, Richard Ernest Punkonty, died at Valley View hosiptal in Glen wood Spring's Wednesday after suffering injuries last Monday in a mot or scooter accident near his home. He died following surgery on his hip which had been broken in the accident. The youngster was a seventh grade student at the Basalt school, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William O. Punkonty who have a ranch in the Snowmass area. Rich ard was born November 9, 1940 in Denver and (had lived with his family for 10 years in the Carbon dale area before moving to Snow mass four years ago. They are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Glen wood Springs. In addition to his parents Rich ard is survived by a brother, Wil lie, and three sisters, Julia, Luanna and Wendy. Funeral services tor Richard Punkonty were held Saturday, April 8. at 10 a.m. witlhi James Barksdale of Grand Junction of ficiating. It was in the Mormon church chapel in Glenwood Springs, with the Farnum Mortuary in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the Rosebud cemetery in Glenwood Springs.
