Janet Claire Burgess of
Delta, passed away on
September 2, 2017. She was
76 years of age.
Janet was born on May 4,
1941, in Cedaredge, Colorado
to Carl and Faye Hawkins
Ginter. She grew up on a
ranch in Dry Creek, east of
Cedaredge. She graduated
from Cedaredge High School
with the class of 1959. She married Jim Hanrahan in 1958 and
they had two daughters. In 1978 she married Gerald Burgess
and they had 24 happy years together.
Janet was a member of the Delta Historical Society, Altrusa
International, and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta. She
enjoyed gardening, four-wheeling, camping, and going to all her
grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events and activities.
She was a loving and supportive mother to daughters, Michele
(Rob) Gallegos and Dana (Doug) Huff, as well as a loving
grandmother to grandchildren, Danielle (Dustin) Germano,
Misty Briscoe-Garcia, Ryan (Lisa) Briscoe and Kirk (Arienne)
Huff, and great-grandchildren, Carson Germano, Caidin
Germano, Carter Germano, Carly Germano, Elle Garcia, Cache
Garcia, Ryder Briscoe, Charlotte Briscoe, Alexa Huff, Kylie
Huff and Brianna Huff.
Janet was preceded in death by father, Carl Ginter, Sr.; mother,
Faye Ginter; brother, Carl Ginter Jr., and her beloved husband,
Gerald Burgess.

24, Delta, CO 81416 or to St. Michael’s Church, 628 Meeker
St., Delta, CO 81416.
The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September
15, 2017, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m.,
both to take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta.
Interment will follow the Mass at Delta City Cemetery.
