Billie LaMae Hutchison
May 14, 1953 - September 3, 2017
"You will be missed to the moon and back"
Billie LaMae Hutchison was born May 14, 1953, in Hayden, Colorado. She was raised in Craig Colorado, Portland Oregon, and resided in Grand Junction thereafter.
She passed away in her sleep September 3, 2017, in the loving
care of her husband.
She is survived by husband, James J. Hutchison; sons, Ace Jay
Hutchison and Hod Dean Hutchison (Juanita); grandchildren,
Austin Hutchison, Annabelle Hutchison, Maddison Hutchison,
Kia Hutchison, and most recent addition, new great-grandbaby,
Emma Hutchison; her mother, Lillian A. Etcheverry and stepfather, Martin Etcheverry; step-mother, Marilyn Hayes; sisters, Lily A. Price (John), Willie L. Hilgenfeld (Robert), and Lola L. Roberson (Eddie), and honorary grand dog, Sassy. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Dean Hayes, and beloved in-laws, Hod and Hazel Hutchison.
Billie was a devoted wife and loving mother that focused her
ambitions on her family; she put her family above all. As a
wife, she devoted all of her heart to the man she loved and
adored. She promoted individuality, knowledge, and respect
while she and her husband raised their two loving sons.
She was a homemaker until her children started school. Billie
worked hard in any position she held, but the position she
enjoyed the most was performing as sales specialist at RHS,
which she recently retired from.
An artist that not only loved to paint, she was a self-taught
seamstress, craftswoman, and hobbyist of many fabulous
treasures, which she bestowed on those she loved.
Grandma Nana cooked specialties for each grandchild,
showered them with attention in times of need, and loved each
of them in her own special way.
With her big brown eyes, she was known for her wonderful
smile, cunning wit, and infectious laugh.
Billie was known as the family matriarch, not only was she the
oldest of four girls, she was the oldest of all her cousins on each
side of her family. As this was her upbringing, she was known
to wear many hats including amazing sister, friend, and fellow
to all those around her.
She was an extraordinaire who will be missed and loved "to
the moon and back" by all that knew her.
Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12,
2017 at Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Home chapel, 904 N.
7th Street, Grand Junction, CO. A memorial dinner will follow
with location to be announced at services.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to HopeWest Hospice are
appreciated.
