Marcus Loucks
February 28, 1991 - September 6, 2017
Marcus David Donald Loucks, beloved son, brother, and friend, left us on September 6, 2017. He blessed us with his infectious laughter, unwavering loyalty, and tender heart for his 26 years on this earth.
Marcus was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. As a child, he was always the courageous one of the family, jumping off the tallest structure
on the playground, then later landing snowboarding jumps over
the roofs of cars. He had an intense passion for the sport of
baseball and his talent in pitching gave him the opportunity to
play for teams all over the western states including Wyoming,
California, Colorado, Washington, Texas, and Montana. Two of
his proudest achievements in the sport were pitching a no-hitter
as a teen in Casper and playing for the Triple Crown
Championship series for a team out of Utah. Marcus earned an
associate’s degree from Dawson Community College in
Glendive, Montana, where he was a college athlete.
Marcus found great joy in befriending others, and to him, there
was no such thing as a stranger in even the most crowded of
rooms. He would never let family and friends off the phone
without saying "I love you". His concern for the well-being of
loved ones and his desire to put others first were incomparable.
Marcus will be immeasurably missed by his parents, Bunky
and Heidi Loucks, and Cathy and Bob Ide; siblings, Matthew
Loucks, Mary Cummings (Michael), Holly Burrow (Matthew),
KT Smith (Kellen), Clinton Ide, April Lubenow, and Dayne
Lubenow; grandmother, Joey Tetreault; girlfriend, Kylie
Melendrez, along with his treasured extended family and
countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Donald Loucks
and David Tetreault, and his grandmother, Holly B. Loucks.
A rosary will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in
Casper, Wyoming, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 7:00
p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place Wednesday,
September 13, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Gary Ruzicka
presiding. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, followed by
a reception at St. Patrick’s for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor
of Marcus to the Casper Family YMCA or a charity of the
donor’s choice.
