Nina Carolyn Arbogast, 93, Grand Junction, died May 27,
2017, in Grand Junction.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. today at Crossroads Methodist
Church.
She was a nurse.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin of Grand Junction and John
of Mesa, Arizona; one daughter, Kathi McVern of Grand Junction;
nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Nina Carolyn Arbogast, age
93, died May 27, 2017, at her
residence in Grand Junction,
CO.
She was born October 26,
1923, in Saybrook, Illinois to
William O. and Floy Butler.
She grew up with six brothers.
Nina graduated from
Saybrook High School.
In 1944 while attending nursing school, Nina secretly married
Paul. When the school found out about the marriage, Nina had
to quit, as students were not allowed to be married at that time.
Nina and Paul were married 68 years. They lived in numerous
places around the country from New York to California, Texas to
Minnesota, finally settling in Colorado.
Nina worked as a nurse, ran a daycare, was a special education
aide, and a caregiver to many throughout her life. She took up
and enjoyed painting later in life. She was also an avid gardener,
seamstress, and enjoyed doing needlepoint.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Paul and son,
Roger. She is survived by son, John (Joan) of Mesa, AZ and
Virginia, MN; daughter, Kathi McVern (Rick) of Grand
Junction, and son, Kevin of Grand Junction. She has nine
grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Crossroads Methodist
Church on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.

name to Crossroads Methodist Church, or HopeWest Hospice.
The family would like to thank HopeWest, Columbine
Caregivers, and family and friends for their care of Nina.

Funeral Service.
