Floyd Wagner, 82, of Grand
Junction, passed away
peacefully at his home
Monday, October 30, 2017.
Floyd was born May 8,
1935, one of 11 children born
to Adolph and Bertha Wagner
near Cosmos, Minnesota. He
grew up in Hutchinson,
Minnesota and went on to
graduate from the College of
Pharmacy at North Dakota State University with both his B.S
and M.S. He also played football for the Bison as a starting
halfback.
Floyd married Sally Anderson in 1959, and the two relocated
to Albert Lea, MN where Floyd went to work as the Pharmacy
Director for Naeve Hospital. In 1966, they purchased and ran a
retail pharmacy in McGregor, Iowa for ten years. In 1977, Floyd
was hired by City Market in Grand Junction to establish the
corporate pharmacy department. He served as its developer and
director for ten years after which time he returned to retail
pharmacy at City Market at First and Orchard. He retired from
full time pharmacy in May of 1997 and continued to do relief
pharmacy for several years. After retirement, Floyd and Sally
enjoyed spending their summers at their lake cottage in Detroit
Lakes, MN.
Floyd was active in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Lions Club, Kiwanis
Club, Boy Scouts of America, along with several pharmacy
organizations. He was a member of the First United Methodist
Church in Grand Junction.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Sally; three children, Jay (Tina)
Wagner, Wendy (Scott) Hayduk, and Wade (Lisa) Wagner;
seven grandchildren, Allyson, Wade, Madeleine, Kylie, Anna,
Augie and Olie; sisters, Lorlie Erickson and Bev (Ron) Pepper;
and brother, Elroy (Anita) Wagner. He is preceded in death by
four brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held at a later date.
