Duane Douglas Peterson
July 23, 1946 - September 15, 2017
Duane was born July 23, 1946 in Grand Junction, CO to Darrell and Lula Mae (Oyler) Peterson.
He passed peacefully from this life at the VA Community Living Center on September 15, 2017, , at the age of 71.
Duane was a member of the Church of the Firstborn. He joined the US Army in December
1964, and was discharged in December 1967. His career
included several local businesses.
He loved to ride and collect motorcycles. He also loved to eat.
Duane is survived by his brother. Marvin Peterson and wife,
Beverly of Whitewater, CO; two nieces, Sherri Sweet of Eckert,
CO and Mindy Glory and husband, Josh of Whitewater; five
great-nieces, Haley Herrmann and husband, Boyd, Savannah
Herrmann and husband, Lyle, Madison Sweet, Tiana Pittser and
husband, Kendall and Tara Glory; a great-nephew, Cody Glory;
and a great-great-nephew, Finley Herrmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Lula
Mae; step-father, John Elsen; a great-nephew, Warren Trevette
Glory, and a great-great-niece, Lilly Mae Herrmann.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 21 from 4 - 8:00 p.m.
at Palisade Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday,
September 22, 1:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of
Western Colorado.
