Steamboat Pilot and Today - April 1, 2018
Dale W. Good, passed away peacefully, at age 81, on Sunday March 25th, 2018, with his wife and daughters by his side, in Pasco, Washington. Dale was born in Lancaster, PA to Robert and Emma Good. Dale is survived by Joyce, his wife of 55 years; son Jeff and daughter in-law Nancy and their children Jasper and Sierra; his daughters Jennifer Good and Dr. Wanda Good; Sister in-law Janet Patterson; his sisters, Betz and brother in-law Earl Kreider, J. Darlene Troyer and Linda Good.
Education was very important to him, he graduated from Elizabethtown College with a BA degree in Business, the first in his family to graduate from College. He then went on to earn his Master's in Business Administration from Indiana University.
Dale moved to VT in 1972, when he took the position of President of the Farmers Trust Company, a subsidiary of the Merchants Bank in Burlington, VT. He was then chosen as the Executive Vice-President of Chittenden Trust Company. His career then shifted to Manchester, VT, where he became Vice-President of the Factory Point National Bank. Upon official retirement and moving with his wife to join family in Steamboat Springs, CO, he took a position at H&R Block preparing taxes for many in the community for 7 years.
Dale was an active community member throughout his adult life in Vermont. He served in many capacities of multiple organizations including director, board member and elected representative. He was Selectman in the town of Shelburne, VT, Rotarian and Ethan Allen Club member, Board member for the Vermont Association for the Blind, Vermont State Board of Public Accountancy, United Way Campaigns and Board of Governors of Medical Center Hospital of Vermont. A spiritual man, he was a longstanding member of the Shelburne United Methodist Church and after moving to Steamboat Springs, CO, the Steamboat United Methodist Church.
