Long time Oak Creek resident Gladys Sullivan passed away at the Mountain Vista Care Center in Wheatridge on Sunday, April 22. She was 97 years old. Her sons are Gary (Elaine) and John (Carolyn) Sullivan of Arvada, Dan (Cheryl) Sullivan of Oak Creek and deceased daughter Sharon Stevenson. A private, family service will be held at a later date.

Gladys F. Sullivan, 97 passed away April 22, 2018 at Mountain Vista Care Center in Wheatridge. Born in McCurtain, Oklahoma on April 14, 1921, Gladys was the daughter of Pat and Josephine Angle. The family moved to Oak Creek when Gladys was a young girl. She graduated from Oak Creek Union High School and married John Sullivan on August 28, 1939. Together they raised four children; Gary, Sharon, John and Dan.

Gladys loved her life in Oak Creek and had many fond memories of raising her family there. She worked for several years at the Oak Creek Drug Store. She often reminisced about family picnics and fishing trips and rides in the country with John. She also loved working in her yard and garden.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; three sisters Loraine, Dorothy and Juanita; and her daughter Sharon.

She is survived by her three sons Gary (Elaine), John (Carolyn), Dan (Cheryl); 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
