David Millar Cullen
October 3, 1944 — May 4, 2018

David was born October 3, 1944 in Columbia, SC, the son of the late Lt. Col. D. M. Cullen (USAF-ret.) and Mary Hays Zeigler Cullen.
He served 4 years in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and moved to the Yampa Valley in 1974 to ski. David first settled south of Hayden on a small ranch and moved to Steamboat in 1985. He was an avid horseman and a well-known barber/hairdresser in the Yampa Valley. He raised his children in the historic Brooklyn neighborhood while keeping his small herd of horses in this backyard. David reintroduced the sport of Polo to the valley, it was a lifelong passion of his. He enjoyed sharing his culinary skills at home from sushi and oysters to southern BBQ, along with all aspects of life in Routt County, with many longtime friends of the Steamboat Springs area.
He is survived by his wife Linda Cullen, children Lane Iacovetto (Jerad), Derek Cullen, four granddaughters, Makayla, Kiley, Lexi and Josie and sisters Judith Cullen of Denver, Ann Cullen (Joseph Hindman) of Knowles Island, SC.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in David’s name to Northwest Health Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm on June 9th at Steamboat Rodeo Grounds.
