MRS. G. D. ROBERTS DIED IN GLENWOOD TODAY

Mrs. G. D. (Ann) Roberts died June 11 in a Glenwood nursing home, where she had resided for the past several months. Funeral services will be held at the Miller Chapel in Eagle, Monday afternoon, June 15 at 2:00 o'clock and interment will be in the Eagle cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts, the widow of G. D. (Joker) Roberts had lived in Eagle for a number of years, moving here from Minturn with Mr. Roberts in the '30s. She was chief operator for the old Eagle Telephone Co., and her husband was District Clerk and later managed a cream station in Eagle.

They were early day residents of Red Cliff, and prominent in civic and social circles there before moving to Minturn, where they operated a drug store.

Ann Hart was born February 19, 1875 in Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Hart. Her father, vacationing in Glenwood Springs became interested in milling and the tales of early day Red Cliff, led him to later move his family to Red Cliff. Mr. Hart later became a Colorado congressman.

It was in Red Cliff that Miss Hart met and married Gordon D. Roberts.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Harry (Fay) Gentner of Tulsa, Oklahoma: two nieces, Mrs. J. D. Alien of Eagle and Mrs. Joyce Dial of Denver; great-nieces Mrs. Madeline Eby, Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. D. E. Johnson, Eagle; Mrs. Robert Burford, Edwards; Mrs. Wm. Cunningham, Cisco, Utah and a great-nephew, Richard Allen of Denver.
