Kemp Gregg Kimberlin, 72, Grand Junction, died Sept. 18, 2017, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. He was a surgical technician at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Karen; one son, Christopher Rock of Grand Junction; and one brother, Scott Kimberlin of Canon City. Kemp Gregg Kimberlin October 16, 1944 - September 18, 2017
Kemp passed away September 18, 2017 at HopeWest Hospice. He was born to Oler and Hayzelle in Vallejo, California. A US Army Veteran during the Vietnam War, he received the National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals with two Bronze Stars; and the Vietnam Campaign and Army Commendation Medals. After his service, he worked as a surgical technician with The Veterans Hospital in Missouri. Returning to Colorado, he worked as a bartender at the old Outwest Bar in Rifle before moving back to Grand Junction. He was kind, caring and always had a sharp wit, helping hand and a ready beer! He was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Karen; a son, Christopher Rock of Grand Junction; and a brother, Scott Kimberlin of Canon City. His Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, October 16, at the VA Memorial Cemetery Contributions may be made to HopeWest and the GJ VA Medical Center. Arrangements under the care of Brown’s Funeral Home.
