Frances Garcia, 85, Palisade, died Dec. 3, 2017, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fruita. She worked for Carnation Foods. Survivors include three sons, Rudy Crespin of Grand Junction and Samuel Crespin and James G. Crespin, both of Clifton; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Frances Garcia, age 85, died peacefully December 3, 2017 of natural causes at HopeWest Care Center surrounded by family. Her Memorial services will be held December 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 1210 17 1/2 Road, Fruita, Colorado 81521. Born February 15, 1932 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Santos Romero and Teresa Blea Romero. She grew up on a farm in "the canyoncito" with her siblings, Greg Romero, Phillip Romero, Lupe Todd and Joe Romero. She met Rudolph Crespin in Silt, Colorado and they married and moved to Loma, Colorado and started a family, Rudolph Crespin Jr., Samuel Crespin, David Crespin, Santos Crespin and James Crespin. In 1974 Frances and three of her sons moved to Nampa, Idaho to be closer to her sister and family after she divorced, where she worked and retired from the Carnation Company. In 1993 she moved back to the Grand Valley to be with her son’s and their families after losing two of her five sons. She remarried in the late 1990’s to Val Garcia and was widowed in early 2000’s. Frances was preceded in death by her father and mother, siblings, two sons, David and Santos Crespin and granddaughter Samantha Crespin. Frances is survived by Rudy(Jan) Crespin, Sam (Diane) Crespin, and James (Danielle) Crespin as well as nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services have been entrusted to Browns Cremation and Funeral Services. Please make Memorial contributions to HopeWest Care Center.
