Esther Allene Westund Raff, 90, Hotchkiss, died Dec. 16, 2017, at her home. Services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Joseph Jr. and Harold; two daughters, E. Dianne Peebles and Mary Hensley; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Esther Allene Raff, age 90, of Hotchkiss, CO, passed away in her home December 16, 2017. Esther was born January 25, 1927, in LaJunta, CO, to parents, Alban John and Allene Augusta Jones Westlund. She was proud to have been delivered by her grandfather, Dr. Thomas Jefferson Jones. The family lived in LaJunta and Saguache prior to her graduating from Grand Junction High School in 1944. Esther married Joseph "Joe" Charles Raff in Grand Junction on June 20, 1944. They farmed and ranched, raising Polled Hereford cattle in the Grand Junction/Fruita area before moving to Hotchkiss in 1981. Joe preceded Esther in death in 1990. Esther is survived by four children, Joseph Charles Raff Jr. (Kathy), Grand Junction; Harold Lee Raff (Karen), Fruita; Esther Dianne Peebles (Larry), Hotchkiss, and Mary Lynn Hensley (Bill), Montrose. She always took great delight in telling people she had four children, ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Westlund, and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017, at Orchard Mesa Cemetery in Grand Junction. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose
