Andrew James Carr September 26, 1963 - November 6, 2017
Andrew James Carr passed from this life November 6, 2017, at his home in Clifton, CO, a result of cardiac arrest. He was 54. Andy was born in Chicago, IL on September 26, 1963, to James M. and Jerri E. Carr. He came to Delta, CO in 1972, spent his childhood on a farm on California Mesa near the Roubideau Canyon, graduating from Delta High School in 1982. He was a master craftsman and operated his own business as a drywall contractor, and then worked for ten years in the energy field. Spending much of his childhood on the farm, he worked hard, bucking hay, milking cows, and loved being outdoors. Throughout his life he always greatly enjoyed going camping, hiking, laughing, living well, and loving his family and friends. He was a great hugger, laughed freely and had a bright and engaging smile. He married Lisa Michelle Carr in January, 2011. They later divorced. Andy is survived by his father, James M. Carr of Delta, CO; brothers, Michael and Jonathan of Grand Junction, CO; sister, Suzanne of Hattiesburg, MS; niece, Audrey Haferman; nephew, Forrest Carr (Heather) and their children, Zoe and Tessa. He is also survived by his step-sister, Doreen Haines of Lexington, SC; step-brothers, Michael Haines of Paola, KS, Andrew Haines, Lexington, SC, and Jeffrey Haines of Clifton, CO. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jerri E. Carr and stepmother, Rita Haines Carr. There will be a Celebration of Life service at the Center for Spiritual Life at 658 Howard St., Delta at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Novemeber 21, 2017.
