David Lyall "Dave the Welder" Aitken July 20, 1941 - November 11, 2017
Dave of Cedaredge, CO, was born in Denver, CO to Leonard Aitken Jr. and Cora McMurtry Aitken on July 20, 1941. Dave spent his childhood in Denver, graduating from Colorado Academy in 1960. While attending Dave was active in sports including football, basketball and track. He loved to ski and free climb. After a few years of college Dave settle on the trade of being a welder. Dave was fond of old cars, motorcycles and his beloved cats. He married the love of his life, Judith A. (Smith) Aitken, on December 19, 1987, in Cedaredge, CO. Dave is survived by his daughters, Catherine Weeks of Grand Junction, CO; Deborah Rash (John) of Cedaredge, CO, and Katherine Fairchild (Matt) of Cheyenne, WY; three grandchildren, Alyssa (22), Jesse (20), and Isabella (16); brothers, Leonard (Susan) Aitken, and James Aitken; sister, Candy Nichols and numerous family members. Dave was preceded in death by both of his parents and his wife. Memorial contributions can be made to HopeWest Hospice P.O. Box 24 Delta, CO 81416.
