Dorothy Ida McCain November 15, 1930 - January 10, 2018
Dorothy Ida Riggle was born to Gladys (Cool) and Everett Riggle November 15, 1930, in Osage, Kansas. Dorothy entered the Pearly Gates January 10, 2018. She loved just like Jesus does. She was forgiving, excepting, understanding and quite possibly the sweetest lady to walk this earth. She was our teacher, extended love with arms wide open, to family and strangers alike. If you knew Dorothy you knew true kindness and love as she placed no judgement. Patient and tough as nails, she raised four boys, with her husband, Doyle McCain, of 67 years, whom she married in 1950. Dorothy moved to Grand Junction when she was around the age of seven. She attended The First Assembly of God, now Victory Life Church, since the day moving here. She was loyal in her faith and now heaven is blessed with her presence. Dorothy graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1948. She was a Telephone Pioneer, as she worked as an operator for Mountain Bell for 22 years. We are comforted knowing she is exactly where she wanted to be. We will all miss seeing that twinkle in her eye. Dorothy is survived by husband, Doyle McCain and her boys, Lyle (Annette) McCain, Ronald (Dianna) McCain, Larry McCain and Richard McCain. She also leaves a sister, Louise Hartsough and brother, Don (Rena) Riggle, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Victory Life Church, Monday, January 15 at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest immediately following services at Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dorothy’s name to Victory Life Church
