Raymond Lee Peed, 68, passed away December 12, 2017 at HopeWest Hospice Center after battling COPD for many years. Lee was born November 22, 1949 in Hayden, Colorado to Iva (Ike) and Leland (Bill) Peed. He spent his youth living on the family ranch east of Craig, where they raised farm animals and hay. He graduated from Moffat County High School in 1967. Lee worked several years in inventory control for construction companies. Lee married Jill Farr on July 13, 1979 in Grand Junction. They moved to Grand Junction in 1980 for her job at Mountain Bell. They moved to Palisade in 1981, where Lee enjoyed raising his sons. He was an active member in the Palisade Lions Club for 23 years. He held many officers’ positions as well as being involved with the Lions camp in Winter Park, and serving on the Kid Sight program. Lee enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing when he was able. In later years, he enjoyed reading, watching TV, and having breakfast with his buddies. He enjoyed visiting with his sons. Lee is preceded in death by his father Bill, his mother Ike and half-sister Frankie Jean Lane. Lee is survived by his wife Jill; sons Shawn of Cortez, and Casey (Kayla) of Grand Junction; grandsons Croix of Cortez, and Tyler of New Mexico; brother Butch (Jenny) of Craig, halfsister Pat (Herb) Chontos of Colorado Springs; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lee was truly loved and will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palisade Lions Club, P.O. Box 37, Palisade, CO 81526 or the Clifton Lions Club, 620 Orange Grove Way, Grand Junction, CO 81504. A remembrance service will be held on December 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Palisade Community Center, Palisade Veterans Park Frontage Rd. and Main, Palisade, CO.
