Jeffrey David McDonald December 24, 1952 - February 3, 2018
Jeffrey David McDonald unexpectedly passed away February 3rd due to complications after surgery. Jeff was born in Glenwood, CO, and was the son of William "Bill" McDonald and Alice McDonald, with surviving brothers, Kevin, DJ, Andrew and Michael McDonald. He graduated from Central High School in 1971, and after graduation was a Steel Fabricator at Grand Junction Steel for over 35 years. Jeff was an avid hunter, fisherman, archer, gardener, and loved all things in nature. His favorite pastime was as President of the Western Colorado Horseshoe Pitching Club, where he was a world-class horseshoe pitcher and placed in the top ten several years running. He loved participating in the local bowling league, and went camping every year in Stage Coach with his family and dearest friends. Jeff was the epitome of a father, friend, and soulmate to everyone who knew him, especially his loving wife of almost 38 years, Margaret. Not one person who knew him could argue that he did not love with all his might, would surely give the shirt, socks, and ball cap he wore to anyone who needed it, set the standard for how to treat “thy neighbor”, and loved until it hurt. His children, Heather, David, Brandie, and Abreail, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, know him for these things. His humor, raw talent to build a giant tree of steel, wood, and keep life real…will be intrepidly missed. Jeff’s Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be February 10, 2018, at the Clifton Assembly of God, 258 5th Street, Clifton, CO 81520, at 2:00 p.m. There will be a potluck reception immediately afterward. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be payable to the “Clifton Assembly of God- Jeffrey McDonald Memorial Fund”.
