David M. Burvant passed away shortly after a traffic collision on November 27, 2017, near his adopted hometown of New Orleans. Dave was born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, to Judith and Michael Burvant. He grew up in the Colorado towns of Broomfield and Boulder. He served in the US Army for four years, and later moved to Grand Junction, CO. After nurturing a lifelong love of New Orleans, he and his new bride, Vickie, moved to the Big Easy in June 2015. Despite his quiet demeanor, Dave made a powerful impact on the lives of those who knew him. He was kind-hearted, a hard worker, and a "by the book" kind of guy who instilled in his children the importance of taking the time to do things right. He loved anything and everything about New Orleans. He loved football and could be found watching LSU and Saints games. He also enjoyed fishing, playing golf and tennis. However, his favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, children and grandson. In addition to his wife, Vickie, he is survived by his loving children, Cody Burvant (Maddie), currently serving in the US Marines, living in Oceanside, California; Michaella Jones and Dave’s only and adored grandson, Mason, living in Longmont, Colorado, and Vickie’s son, Antonio Archuleta, living in Fruita, Colorado. Dave’s family and friends will truly miss this gentle and humble man. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith. Private services were held.
