David Mata, 66, Clifton, died Dec. 23, 2017, at the Grand Junction Veterans Affairs nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 5, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. He was a carpenter and U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by a daughter Dynessa J. Mata of Clifton; two brothers, Edward of Arizona and Frederick Jr. of Colorado; and one sister Jeanette Valenzuela of Texas
