June F. Kissell June 6, 1919 - November 20, 2017
June was the oldest of eight children, and was proud to be a Colorado native born in Fruita and raised by parents, Annie and Roy Webb. June married Harold J. Kissell and spent over 50 years enjoying life together. From this union three children were born, Jimmy Dale (deceased), Lynda Lovern, and Harold “Butch” Kissell. She cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a fabulous cook, and family and friends will surely miss the delicious Christmas candy trays she made. She was a very artistic person, demonstrated by all the beautiful wedding cakes she made for family members. She was a retired US Postal Clerk. One of her favorite pastimes was attending sporting events in which her grand and great-grandchildren participated. She was an avid fan. The Denver Broncos were also a favorite. She loved to gamble, playing blackjack and slots. June was delighted that she got to go to Las Vegas for her 97th birthday! She loved playing bridge, and never lost the ability of being a good player. She was past Worthy Matron of the Palisade Order of Eastern Star. June is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, and six siblings. She is survived by daughter, Lynda Lovern (Don); son, Harold “Butch” Kissell (Carol); sister, Helen Darrah; brother, Larry Webb; grandchildren, Corey Lovern (Lisa), Judd Lovern (Sarah), Shannon Lovern, Glynis White (Ray), and Kara Walker (Dan), and nine great-grandchildren, Gage, Chase, Caly, Cooper and Leo Lovern, Megan and Nick White, and Reuben and Brooke Walker. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Road on Friday, December 1. Burial will follow at Palisade Cemetery. Celebration of her life will follow. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital and HopeWest Hospice, 3090B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
