Billie Kay Huber September 30, 1929 - January 14, 2018
Billie Kay Huber of Palisade, Colorado, peacefully passed away while surrounded by family. She was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, and graduated from Grand Junction High School. She was employed at Home Loan & Investments before meeting the love of her life, Gerald Huber, and sharing her love with him for the next 64 plus years. Billie Kay was devoted to her church, St. Ann’s, and a lifetime member of Catholic Daughters, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and various organizations through her religion. She was a dedicated member of GVCO soup kitchen for over 20 years. This was a lady who endlessly gave of herself. Family and friends will miss the tasty cookies and jellies she made. She always sent birthday cards to everyone she knew, marking them feel like family. Mom told us she was blessed five times over; once for each of her children, Gary (Janet), and David (Arlene), both of Denver; Joan (Ron) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Ruth (Mike) and Michele (Greg), both of Grand Junction. Grandma Billie was also blessed with nine grandchildren, Jenny (Robbie), Nathan (Ashly), Rachel (Kevin), Isaac (Penny), Mike Jr., Matt (Kimbrie), Malcolm, Kayla, and Hannah. There are also nine great-grandchildren who Grandpa Gerald will attend to by himself with Billie Kay as their angel. Billie Kay has one sister, Terre (Jay) Sackett of Brigham City, Utah, and one sister-in-law, Lois Geary of Grand Junction. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jim Geary. Rosary is at Callahan-Edfast in Grand Junction on Sunday, January 21, at 4:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. Funeral is on Monday, January 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Palisade. Contributions may be made to Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, 245 South 1st Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501. Arrangements are under the care of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Grand Junction, Colorado. Your life was a well-written story, and you touched many along the way; for this you’ll remain in our hearts forever.
