Although he had been in failing health the past several months, Ken passed away unexpectedly on February 15 from COPD complications. He was born on August 5, 1934, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to John and Catherine Logan and spent his early years in Grand Junction. His family had a small farm in Loma and later moved many times until settling in Denver, Colorado in 1950. Ken joined the Navy in 1952 serving in the Korean conflict and was discharged in 1955. He and his wife, Janice Hartway, were married in Sterling, Colorado in 1957. Ken worked for Public Service Company of Colorado, now Xcel Energy, in Sterling as a customer service rep and later in the Brush office as a marketing rep. Retiring after 32 years with that company, he and Janice moved back to Grand Junction, the place he always called home. He and his wife were members of the First Baptist Church of Grand Junction. He loved golfing, fishing, skiing, and everything outdoors the Western Slope provided. The time spent in later years fishing and skiing with his two grandsons was especially meaningful to him. He is survived by his wife Janice after 60 years of marriage; his daughter Kelli Steinkirchner and her husband Dan of Grand Junction; his grandsons Lane Davis of Grand Junction and Joe Steinkirchner of Denver, Colorado; and great-grandson Ledgyn Davis. A sister Sharon Jones of Meeker also survives him. A military memorial service with honors will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado on March 20, 2018 at 3:00 p.m.
