Lottie May Turon passed away on July 12, 2018 at Sandrock Ridge Care Center in Craig at the age of 90.

Lottie was born on April 27, 1928 in Oak Creek, Colorado, the third of three children born to Augustus L. and Louise C. (Neustadt) Bing. She spent her entire life in Oak Creek and often commented that there was no better place to live.

She was a homemaker until her 4 children were older as she always felt it important to be home with them during their younger years. She eventually went to work for the Routt County National Bank and retired from United Bank on April 1, 1991.

Lottie married Joe Turon on July 15, 1951 at the Lutheran Church in Steamboat Springs and were married for 57 years. To this union four children were born: Joe, Cheryl, David and George. Joe and Lottie ensured that their children had a happy, fun childhood while also instilling in them a strong work ethic and respect for others.

After retirement Joe and Lottie enjoyed the beautiful area they called home. They spent many days fishing and taking rides on back county roads, enjoying the wildlife and beauty around them. Along with many vacations exploring Colorado they also traveled to Hawaii, enjoyed an Alaskan Cruise, and went to London for the 50th reunion of the 8th Air Force Division.

Lottie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, half-brother Jack, brother Lewis, sister Louise and son David.

She is survived by children Joe (Penny), Cheryl (Dan), George (Natalie), grandchildren Lisa (Ben), Frank (Justine), great grandsons Jesse and Logan and many nieces and nephews.

A Lutheran Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 21, 2018 at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Oak Creek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tracks and Trails Museum in care of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Ave., Craig, CO 81625.
