Ramona Mae Henderson, 88, Grand Junction, died March 6, 2018, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. March 17 at the Residence at Grand Mesa. She worked in customer service. Survivors include four daughters, Karen Smith and Debbie Broderick, both of Grand Junction, Linda Avery of Clifton and Terri of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Surrounded by her loving family, Ramona Henderson lost her brave fight with numerous health issues, on March 6, 2018, at HopeWest in Grand Junction CO. Ramona spent her life in various places, however since 2005 she called the Grand Valley her home. One of Ramona’s greatest loves was cooking for her family and friends. She also loved gardening and spending time with her closest friends. Ramona was a fierce competitor when it came to Bowling and Bingo! Everyone fondly remembers her as being "feisty and stubborn". Ramona had a deep love for her "3 good girls" and adored all of her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for her "son", Gordon. Ramona is survived by her loving family and her many friends at The Residence at Grand Mesa. A Celebration of Ramona’s life will be held on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 (St. Patrick’s Day), at 2:00 p.m. in the dining room at the Residence at Grand Mesa, 565 28 1/4 Rd. Grand Junction, CO. In lieu of flowers, Ramona’s family requests donations be made to the HopeWest location of your choice.
John Stephen Boyer March 17, 1957 - March 5, 2018
John Boyer, 60, was born in Grand Junction, CO on March 17, 1957 and died in Montrose, CO on March 5, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1975. He attended Grayson College in Denison, TX and later attended Dixie State in Cedar City, UT, both on baseball scholarships. In 1992, he met Kathy Grady while working at The Industrial Company (TIC). He was self employed for many years. He was a sports enthusiast, amazing fisherman and a gentleman farmer. John was preceded in death by his parents, George Boyer and Mary Kukuljan Boyer; sister, Rochelle Boyer O’Lear, and brother, George Boyer. He is survived by Kathy Grady, his best friend and love; brother, Thomas Boyer of Colorado Springs, and sister, Olivia Boyer Hines of Fruita CO; along with numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. No service is planned and cremation has occurred.
Jack W. Moore February 6, 1928 - March 4, 2018
Jack William Moore died peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 4, 2018. He was 90 years old. Jack was born to Alden "Jack" and Vera Moore on February 6, 1928, in Sterling, Colorado. He was the oldest of four siblings, growing up in Boulder, CO. Jack attended Whittier Elementary, Northside (Casey) Jr. High and Boulder High School, graduating in l946. Growing up, Jack had a deep love for his dog, Benny, and was very active in FFA (Future Farmers of America). He married Erma Tobaben on September 30, l949, at The Grace Lutheran Church in Boulder. He inspired our family by his total devotion to his wife over their 68 years of marriage. Erma is currently at the Aspen Ridge Care Center. Jack proudly served his country in the Korean conflict, spending eleven months stationed in Pusan. He was always proud to be an American and always flew the flag at his home. He was spent 40 years as a professional carpenter, building houses in the Boulder area. In his spare time, he was a “Jack of all trades,” carving wooden fish, boats, airplanes, horses, reindeer and many more amazing creations. Jack had a lifelong love of fishing and hunting. He and Erma shared a love of nature. He was also an avid fan of the Broncos and Rockies. Jack had a love for Indian Art and anything signifying the Old West. He was a member of the Elks Club in Boulder and Grand Junction. Jack is survived by his wife, Erma; sister, Jeanette Bell of Boulder (pictured with Jack above); nephew, Ken Bell of East Greenwich, RI and his daughter, Amy and husband, Jay Cerro; granddaughters, Kylie and Lila; son, Kenny and wife, Megan Bell; grandsons, Camden and Jackson; niece, Shauna Moore of Lawrence, KS, and niece, Maela Moore of Lafayette, CO and her family, Ashley and Shawn. Jack is also survived by nephew, Jim and wife, Anita Tobaben of Topeka, KS; son, Nicholas and wife, Lauren, and grandson, Nathan; son, Eric and Laura StadlerTobaben, and son, Matthew Tobaben. He is also survived by nephew, Warren and wife, Carolyn Tobaben of Overland Park, KS, and children, Trevor, Peter, Katie, Jonathan and Curtis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Vera Moore; sister, June Teegarden, and brother, Robert Moore. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Brown’s Funeral Service, 904 N. 7th Street, Grand Junction, CO. Reception following.
