Richard S. Morris, 85, Grand Junction, died March 8, 2018, at his home. Visitation is at 9 a.m. Saturday with services to follow at 10 a.m. at the Church of Latter-day Saints, 3076 E 1/2 Road. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Gypsum. He was a materials tester for highway engineers. Survivors include his wife, Josephine; one son, Stephen Morris of Lewiston, Utah; three daughters, Diana Bowers and Susan Croteau, both of East Carbon, Utah, and Rebecca Pfieffer of Sedona, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.

Richard Stephen Morris was born on March 3, 1933, in Georgetown, CO and passed peacefully March 8, 2018, in Grand Junction, CO at home. He was diagnosed with cancer in July 2017. He graduated high school in 1952 from Moffat County High School in Craig, CO. He worked on family ranches early on but his main occupation was a materials tester in the engineering department for the State of Colorado Highways for about 45 years. He married Josephine Bye in 1955 in Craig, CO. They lived in Steamboat Springs, CO for 12 years and then moved to Gypsum, CO where they lived for 32 years. He was baptized into the Mormon Faith 1963. He liked to hunt and camp. He had a bright personality, and loved to socialize and meet new people. He loved to sit in the Glenwood Vapor Caves and enjoyed hot tubbing. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Morris; children, Diana Bowers, Susan Croteau, Steve Morris and Rebecca Pfeiffer; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. Callahan-Edfast Mortuary is providing services. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Mormon Church, 3076 E ½ Rd Grand Junction, CO Saturday, March 17, 2018.
