Wesley Howard Hetherington December 27, 1932 - January 18, 2018
Wesley "Howard" Hetherington, 85, went home to his Lord Thursday, January 18, 2018, at LaVilla Care Center in Grand Junction, CO. Howard was born December 27, 1932. He was the fourth son of David Creed and Emelia (Shieve) Hetherington. Howard was a graduate of the class of 1950 at Central High School. Soon after he joined the Colorado National Guard, and also trained and became a journeyman carpenter working with his father and brothers helping build and remodel homes in the area. He married and had four sons, David, Steven, Brett, and Scott. The family moved to Summit County, CO, where he worked in Vail, Breckenridge, and Dillon for eight years. After a divorce he returned to Grand Junction where he was hired by Mesa County Building Department and spent nearly nine years as a Building Inspector. In January of 1976 he married Glenna (Yearout) Wilson. They joined families with eight children: his four sons, and Glenna’s two boys, Terry Wilson and Michael Wilson, and two girls, Angela Turley and Laura Cook. He was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Elizabeth; brothers, Orlynn, James, Charles, Lester, and Don Hetherington; son, Steve Hetherington; step-son, Terry Wilson, and a beautiful granddaughter, Amanda Burke of Clifton, CO. Howard is survived by his wife, Glenna; sister, Mary Stanford; sons, David (Jayme), Brett (Sandy), and Scott Hetherington; step-son, Michael Wilson; step-daughters, Angela Turley and Laura Cook; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held January 27, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Clifton Christian Church with Roger Ferguson officiating. Memorials are requested to be made to Clifton Christian Church.

Wesley Howard Hetherington, 85, Grand Junction, died Jan. 18, 2018. Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Clifton Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Glenna; four sons, Brett of Aurora, Scott, Steven, and David, all of Grand Junction; one sister, Mary Stanford of Alamogordo, New Mexico; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
