Tricia Marie Lloyd, 46, Grand Junction, died Jan. 16, 2018, at Community Hospital. Services will take place at 11 a.m. Feb. 3 at Canyon View Vineyard Church. Reception will follow at Legacy Funeral Home. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Feb. 6 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. She was a teacher. Survivors include her husband, Jerry; seven sons, Matthew, Logan, Noah, Jariah, Kyler Jaramillo, Ian Hubbard, and Christopher Hubbard; parents, Robert Stander, T.J. Smith and Barbara Smith; one sister, Diana Stander-Tap; one brother, Tommy Smith; and six grandchildren. Tricia Marie Lloyd July 31, 1971 - January 16, 2018
Tricia Marie Lloyd (Stander), age 46, passed away due to a sudden illness on January 16, 2018. Tricia was born in Englewood, Colorado on July 31, 1971. She was a student at Carmody Junior High, Bear Creek High and graduated from Sheridan High School where she also obtained her Cosmetology License and worked as a hairdresser for 17 years. Tricia also worked at Durango Juvenile Detention Facility in Phoenix Arizona as a Juvenile Detention Officer for three years and worked with At Risk Kids at Ariel in Grand Junction Colorado for two years. She was very creative and it was her love for kids that prompted her to start a party business called Little Angels Party Time where she planned children’s birthday parties and would dress up as Nellie Bell the clown. Tricia moved to Arizona where she obtained a Bachelors and Teaching Degree at Arizona State University. She went on and received a Masters Degree at Northern Arizona University. She taught elementary school for ten years and worked for School District 51 and was currently teaching second grade at Rocky Mountain Elementary in Clifton, Colorado. She was also a member of the MVEA Teacher’s Union. Tricia assisted her husband with the family business and served as a funeral director for two years. Tricia enjoyed reading, going to the gym, arts and crafts, playing games with family and debating issues she felt strongly about. But her true passion was influencing the lives of her students. Tricia was a bright outgoing person and truly influenced the lives of everyone who knew her. She was the type of person who could get you thinking outside the box. She pushed you to dig deeper and challenged you to be better. Her positive outlook on life was contagious. Tricia is survived by her husband, Jerry Lloyd Hubbard; sons, Matthew, Logan, Noah, Jariah, Kyler Jaramillo, Ian and Christopher Hubbard; six grandchildren; parents, Bob Stander, and Barbara Smith (Stander); step-father, TJ Smith; sister, Diana Tap; brother, Tommy Smith; two nieces, and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard and Minnie Ragsdale, and Henry and Mary Stander’ aunt, Margie Bartholomew, and granddaughter, Trinity Jaramillo. In lieu of flowers, donations of children’s books K-6 can be dropped off at The Zesty Moose Marketplace at 449 Colorado Avenue, Grand Junction, Colorado, or Legacy Funeral Home, 762 Horizon Drive. Services have been planned for Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Canyon View Vineyard Church, 736 24 ½ Road, Grand Junction, CO. 81505 A reception will immediately follow at Legacy Funeral Home, 762 Horizon Drive, Grand Junction, CO. 81506.
