Ted E. Kerndt passed away March 9, 2018, at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center. He was 76. Ted was born on September 21, 1941, in Denver, Colorado and was raised by his grandparents in Salida, Colorado. He served honorably in the United States Navy for three years. Ted worked at the Climax Molybdenum Mine for several years and lived in Denver, Colorado for ten years before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1977. He later worked at the Gary Refinery and for School District 51. Ted was a total outdoorsman enjoying his passions of fly fishing and photography. He enjoyed filming his trips with Sandy to Hawaii and Alaska. Many memories were made on favorite getaways across Colorado that he would record and transfer to DVD. Ted leaves behind his wife, Sandra Lepp; daughter, Celina Kerndt; step-daughter, Stephanie (Jared) Detton; step-children, Louie (Roxanne) Dussex, Jacque Dussex, and Todd (Maggie) Dussex of Denver and step-grandson, Christopher Ball. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorial contributions, in Ted’s name, may be made to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B North 12th Street,Grand Junction, CO 81506.
