Sandra Davis December 8, 1943 - January 26, 2018
Sandra Davis passed away 80 days short of 55 years married to Ralph (R.D.) Davis. She went to be with Jesus on Friday, January 26, 2018 at HopeWest Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction after a second, year-long battle with triple-negative breast cancer. Her final request was if you are not a Christian that you would become a believer as she did almost seventy years ago. A memorial service will be held at 10:15 a.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Cedaredge with Pastor Dik Abbot officiating. Sandy was born on December 8, 1943 to Stanton and Jane Knowles. She attended grade school at DeVeaux and high school at DeVilbiss in Toledo, Ohio, graduated in 1962 and attended college at Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas where she met and married Ralph (R.D.) Davis of Austin, Colorado. They married on April 15, 1963. He survives. They adopted a son Bryce, whose son is Heath Barnes, they survive; a daughter, Shelly, who was killed in a drunk-driver accident in 2002. Shelly left a son, Damian. Sandy became his mother and his teacher since he was nine years old. He graduated from Delta after spending his elementary years where Sandy was an elementary teacher for 22 years with TMCA (Thunder Mountain Christian Academy). He survives. She also taught several years at Foothills Christian School in Montrose. She had interests in music, singing and crafts. She was an active member of Cedaredge First Baptist Church. Proverbs 18:22 says “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord”. She was a wonderful wife and mother who will be greatly missed.
