Ruth Carmen Capes, 94, Grand Junction, died March 26, 2018, in Grand Junction. Private services will take place at a later date. She was a federal administrative assistant. Survivors include two sons, Randall Byers of Albany, Oregon, and Todd Capes of Mobile, Alabama; one daughter, Cynda Beyers of Fruita; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ruthe was born in Pennsylvania to Ed and Bess (Maines) McCartney on December 1, 1923, and passed away on March 26, 2018, at home. Private graveside family services were held at Memorial Gardens, Grand Junction, CO. Ruthe was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Max R. Byers, and James F. Capes, and children, Jimmy and Mary Capes. She was a member of the Redlands United Methodist Church. Ruthe is survived by children, Randy (Laveda) Byers, Cynda Byers, and Todd (Rhonda) Capes; grandchildren, Dane and Randall Byers; Weston, Maggie, and Wyatt Capes, and greatgrandchildren, Lila and Dane Byers. Her love in life was for her family and always will be.
