Heaven gained an amazing soul and a beautiful spirit on September 7, 2018 when Maureen Barbara Hebard , 76, passed away peacefully in the company of her family at her daughter's home in La Mesa, CA, after a long battle with chronic illness.

Maureen was born August 15, 1942 in Denver, CO to Irma & Fredrick Fry. She graduated from the University of Colorado and worked in mental health counseling until she moved to Steamboat Springs in 1971 to fulfill her dream of living an active, outdoor lifestyle and resided there until 2015.

During her years in Steamboat Springs she worked as a mental health counselor at Horizons and owned a small local retail business with her husband Daniel. She spent the last few years of her life in La Mesa, CA just blocks away from the grandchildren she adored. She will forever continue to be celebrated as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, devout Christian, horse enthusiast and avid bridge player. She will missed greatly by her spiritual communities at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Steamboat Springs, CO and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in La Mesa, CA.

She will be remembered for her perpetually upbeat positive attitude, warm heart and kind soul. She always opened her home and her heart to those in need and volunteered with several service organizations throughout the Steamboat area.

She is survived by her husband Daniel Hebard, brother Gary Fry, her two daughters Julia Hebard and April Weaver, son-in-law Jason Weaver and two grand-children, Luke & Kate Weaver. Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 846 Oak St., Steamboat Springs, CO. All who knew her in life are welcome to attend.
