Lyle Kenneth Mueller November 4, 1952 - May 7, 2018
Lyle Kenneth Mueller, formerly of Grand Junction, passed away May 7, in Aurora at the age of 65. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Al Groves of Lawrenceville, Georgia; nephew, Arthur Groves, also of Lawrenceville, as well as several cousins. Lyle was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on November 4, 1952, to Audrey and Delbert Mueller, both now deceased. The family moved to Grand Junction several years later, and he graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1971, and what was then known as Mesa College in 1974, where he earned an associate degree. He enlisted in the Army in 1975 and served three years of active duty, primarily at Fort Carson as a carpenter in Company C, 52nd Engineering Battalion. Lyle then moved to Aurora and earned an associate degree in architectural drafting from a technical college. He worked for over 30 years at 7-Eleven stores. Despite the geographical distance, he remained devoted to his family, particularly in his parents’ later years when he made frequent trips to Grand Junction to assist them. Quiet, soft spoken, and shy, he nonetheless made an impact on the world and will be missed. A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Veteran’sMemorial Cemetery in Grand Junction at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, and a memorial service will be held at CallahanEdfast Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9.
