Jack Arthur Walker July 7, 1924 - May 9, 2018
Jack Arthur Walker, age 93, passed away on May 9, at HopeWest Hospice in Grand Junction, after a long struggle with congestive heart failure. Mr. Walker leaves behind his beloved wife, Adele, and children, Gary, Jim, Kevin (Terri), Nancy (Jon Kobylarz), and Mark (Melody). He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his brother, Donald (Helen). He was preceded in death by his son, David, and sisters, Dorothy, Marilyn, and Jane. Jack, a proud Marine and veteran of WWII, earned the rank of staff sergeant. While in the service, Jack met his sweetheart of 70 years, Adele, who was also a Marine. Together, they raised their family in Allen Park, MI. Jack had several jobs before his successful 30-year career as a system’s analyst for the Ford Motor Company. Jack and Adele traveled the South and Southwest in their trailer before retiring in Lady Lake, FL. There, Jack honed his passions for golf, fishing, and cooking. Jack treasured his wife, Florida’ssunshine, his neighbors, and the time he spent with his golfing buddies. Jack and Adele moved into the loving care of The Residence at Grand Mesa in Grand Junction in September, 2017. Visitation will be Monday, June 11, 2018 from 4 - 6:00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. at the Palisade Funeral Home Chapel in Palisade. Services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, and will be conducted by the Grand Valley Combined Honor Guard.
