Lawrence Rodriguez Garcia August 10, 1922 - May 22, 2018
In the early morning of Tuesday, May 22, 2018, our beloved father left this earth to be in God’s loving arms. Lawrence, 95, was born in Rocky Ford, CO, to parents, Antonio Garcia and Luz Rodriguez Garcia. He came to Grand Junction when he was two years old and attended school in the Appleton area, and was the last remaining of five children. Lawrence met and married his wife of 65 years, Patsy Hernandez Garcia, in Grand Junction, where together they raised seven children. He worked and retired from Bendix Corporation (AEC) in Grand Junction. Lawrence enjoyed fishing, hunting, mechanics, target practice, and the Denver Broncos. He was a WWII Veteran with the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by wife, Patsy; son, Jose Lorenzo Garcia; brothers, Cedro Garcia, Tony Garcia, and Lloyd Garcia, and sister, Josephine Herrera. He is survived by sons, Martin and Frank Garcia, both of Denver, CO; daughters, Jennie (Ed) Maes, Donna Garcia, Nancy (Mario) Vargas, and Theresa Garcia, all of Grand Junction, CO; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren, all whom he loved spending time with. A graveside service, will take place on June 7, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction. Cremation arrangements handled by Callahan-Edfast Mortuary and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lawrence’s name to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
