Billy Joe Watson, 88 years old, went home to be with his Savior on March 27, 2018. He lived a wonderful, adventurous life full of love. He was our hero. Billy Joe was born in Shamrock, Texas, September 25, 1929, to Oren and Fern Watson. He was a WWII veteran, joining when he was 16. His service included guarding the German officer prisoners of war during the Nuremburg Trials. Billy’smission in life was to share the Good News that he found in 1963 when he made Jesus the Lord of his life. If you knew Billy at all you knew that Jesus was his reason for living. He loved and adored his family - they were his joy. He is survived by many family members who loved him and knew that they were loved and cherished by him, his wife, Gloria Watson; children, Suzan (Scott) Williams, Rachel Sparrow, Jesse (Dena) Watson, Miles Watson and Paul (Linnea) Watson. He was Bobo to 11 grandchildren, Cyndi, David (Courtney), Stacey (Nick), Henry, Jessica (Adrian), Donovan, Haibi, Anna, Enrik, Brian, and Brittany (Andy), and 12 greatgrandchildren, Jeremiah, Caleb, Leah, Aidan, Riley, Wyatt, Jace, Charli Mae, Jackson, Stella, Zander and Ruby; sister, Barbra Hoffman of La Grange, Texas; brother, Dwayne Watson, Shamrock, Texas, and many nephews and nieces. A memorial service to celebrate Billy Joe’s life will be at Downtown Vineyard Church, 402 Grand Avenue, Grand Junction, CO on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.

Billy Joe Watson, 88, Grand Junction, died March 27, 2018, at the Veterans Affairs Community Living Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. April 9 at the Downtown Vineyard Church. He was a welder and coal miner. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; three sons, Jesse, Miles, and Paul, all of Grand Junction; two daughters, Suzan Watson Williams of Fruita and Rachel Watson Sparrow of Grand Junction; one brother, Dwayne Watson of Shamrock, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Hoffman of LaGrange, Texas, and Linda Bonner of Shamrock; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
