"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you oh God." On June 27, 2018, Timothy Edward Hollett left his earthly body to claim his crown in glory. He was surrounded by loving family sending him on to his next journey. His tremendous faith and witness was the solid ground many of us stood on. Tim was born on April 14, 1953, to William "Eddie" and Shirley Hollett in Delta, Colorado. The family lived in many different places while his dad worked in ore mining camps. The family settled in Palisade, Colorado where Tim lived, and went to school and church. His life was intertwined with many friends who called him brother. His sisters, Joyce (Tony) and Vickie (Dave), enjoyed life with their big brother. Tim had a quiet strength. Those who knew Tim knew that, if he offered counsel, it was considered, measured, and usually profound. After graduating from high school, he went on to Intermountain Bible College where he shined. He found his love of music, and studying God’s word with some of the best friends he would ever have. He graduated from IBC in 1976. Tim married Loma Harkleroad on November 24, 1974. They shared a son, Jacob, and a grandson, Tanner. On January 1, 1988, Tim married Sherry Eversol Davis adding to his family, Ari and Jennifer, Brannan and Stephanie, Chad and Erin, and Desirae and Andy. The most special time Tim and Sherry had was sharing coffee together every morning. They were always willing to share a pot of coffee with any visitors who stopped by. Tim had a passion for the outdoors, and took his family camping, fishing, and skiing. He enjoyed exploring backroads, especially the Uncompagre area with his brother and good friend, Bill Everheart. He also had a Harley which he enjoyed fully, feeling the freedom and the wind on his face. His most important role in life was being Papa. Tim joyously welcomed and deeply loved each new grandchild, Owen, Noah, Addison, Nora, Jane, Conor, Miles, Emmeline, Marshall, and Quin. Tim’s favorite job of all time was working for CDOT and the annual clearing of Independence Pass. He was honored to be an elder in the Appleton Christian Church. He loved God and the Bible. Our beloved Tim went home, healed to be with Jesus and loved ones for all eternity. His one thought during his fight was to finish strong… he absolutely did. A memorial service to honor Tim will be July 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Appleton Christian Church in Grand Junction, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Appleton Christian Church or HopeWest Hospice. Arrangements entrusted to Palisade Funeral Home.
